Contract Extension Rules: "Teams may give one contract extension per season to a player with at least one year remaining on their contract. If a player is a pending UFA then they may not be resigned and must go to FA. The extension may add up to 3 years onto the contract, at an increase of 150% of the player's highest paid year. A player may never exceed 6 years in contract length from the time the contract is signed, until the conclusion of the extension."
