Due to the previous owner of the Chargers not having an active lineup once, the Rules Committee voted to install a lottery for the #1 pick that involves the bottom 6 teams. This lottery is not a normal lottery where every position is up for grabs. You either keep the pick you have, or end up with the number one pick. The Chargers will either end up with first, or will switch with one of the teams. This lottery will only be in place for this upcoming draft and not every draft.
